Depending on the project and your area of expertise, we accept several types of contributions:

• Book chapters — standalone sections within a single-author or multi-author monograph, written to an editor’s specification.
• Edited-volume chapters — contributions to a themed collection with a named editor-in-chief, where several authors each cover a distinct topic.
• Conference proceedings papers — papers arising from an academic or scientific conference that we publish and register with a DOI as part of our conference publishing services.
• Journal articles — original research, reviews, or case reports submitted to one of our journal titles.

How the Process Works

1. Submit Your Application

Complete the form below with your background, area of expertise, and a brief description of what you’d like to contribute. If you already have a specific chapter, paper, or book concept in mind, outline it here; if you’re open to any suitable opportunity, let us know your general interests instead.

2. Editorial Review

Our editorial team reviews applications on a rolling basis, typically within 5-7 business days. We check your proposal or background against current and upcoming projects to see where there’s a fit.

3. Invitation and Scoping Discussion

If your expertise matches an active project, we’ll invite you to a short discussion to confirm scope, word count, timeline, and any co-authors or reviewers involved. For a proposed new book or special issue, this stage covers feasibility — whether the topic has enough depth and contributor interest to sustain a full project.

4. Writing and Peer Review

Once terms are agreed, you’ll receive detailed author guidelines and a deadline. Completed work goes through editorial and peer review before final acceptance, with revision requests where needed.

5. Publication

Accepted contributions move into production alongside the rest of the volume, issue, or proceedings, including any relevant DOI assignment and indexing steps.

What Makes a Strong Pitch

Whether you’re applying for an existing project or proposing a new one, the strongest applications tend to share a few characteristics:

• A clearly scoped topic — specific enough to be covered thoroughly within the expected word count, rather than an overly broad subject area.
• Demonstrated relevance — a clear explanation of why your background qualifies you to write on this particular topic.
• Evidence of prior work — publications, research experience, or clinical/professional practice relevant to the proposed contribution.
• A realistic timeline — an honest estimate of how long you’ll need, given your other commitments.
• Alignment with the project’s audience — awareness of who will read the finished work and what level of detail they expect.
