Send the accepted manuscript and figures

Upload the accepted Word or LaTeX file, source-resolution figures and the author’s details. We confirm word and figure counts and send the price line before work starts.

Copyedit with author queries

A house-style language copyedit of the full text. Queries go to the corresponding author in one batch. Five business days is typical for a standard-length article.

Typeset, XML, accessibility check

The corrected text is set to your journal template: PDF, HTML and JATS XML, with the PDF tagged and reading order checked. Equations are set at no extra charge.

Proof, deposit, publish on the calendar date

The author signs off one proof. DOI and metadata are deposited, PMC-ready JATS or DOAJ metadata XML is deposited if ordered, and the article or issue goes live on the calendar date.

Who decides what

Your editors decide. We run the process.

Editorial independence

The journal’s own editors keep final authority over reviewer selection, editorial assessment and acceptance. NeucitePress runs the process and the infrastructure — never the decision.

Platform independence

Open-source software (OJS), your own domain, a client-controlled DOI registration arrangement (subject to Crossref membership or sponsorship), and full data export on request. You can leave at any time with everything.

No indexing guarantees

Inclusion in DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, MEDLINE or any other database is decided solely by that database. We prepare, document and apply — we do not promise outcomes.

Source files, typeset PDF, HTML and JATS XML are delivered to you and stored on your own platform. Change supplier and nothing needs rebuilding.

FAQ

Questions editors ask before ordering

The word count is the full manuscript as accepted, abstract through references, rounded up to the next 500-word block, so 5,100 words counts as 11 blocks. Each figure is $6; equations are free. We confirm both counts and the price line with you before work starts.
Copyediting typically takes five business days. Typesetting, XML and the accessibility check follow once the author has answered the queries. The author’s turnaround on queries and the proof is usually the largest part of the calendar, which is why On-Time Issues fixes the date in writing and schedules backwards from it.
Copyediting is language and house-style editing, not rewriting or scientific editing; Multilingual Production covers non-English text. Typesetting does not include redrawing figures. DOI setup and long-term archiving are separate products. PMC JATS and DOAJ metadata XML are different technical deliverables, not applications: each service decides which journals it accepts, and we deposit only through an eligible journal’s approved route.
No. Per-article production is platform-independent: we return PDF, HTML and JATS XML in the formats your platform takes, OJS or otherwise. On-Time Issues needs platform access to build the issue; on OJS we do it natively, elsewhere we deliver the files and work with your administrator.
You do. Every deliverable, including source files, typeset PDF, HTML and JATS XML, is handed to you and lives on your platform. There is no contract on per-article products, so stopping means not ordering the next article. Nothing is withheld.
