One audit before any package

Every engagement above $2,000 begins with the same three-to-four-week audit, so the proposal you receive is based on your journal, not a template.

Journal Health Check

Scores one journal against eleven pain areas — editorial workload, peer review, integrity, methods checks, platform, production regularity, discoverability, indexing eligibility, funding model, governance, reporting. You receive a scorecard, an indexing eligibility map with realistic dates, a prioritized roadmap, and a two-page summary written for a dean or council. The fee is credited against any package signed within 90 days.

What a small journal pays in a year

For a journal with about 100 submissions and 40 published articles a year, Managed OJS Hosting — Basic plus per-article typesetting comes to roughly $5,079. The same journal on Scholastica's published platform, per-submission and production pricing comes to roughly $7,809.

Migration in — back issues, metadata, DOIs and redirects — is free with any annual hosting plan, and you can leave at any time with a full export.

Who decides what

Your editors decide. We run the process.

Editorial independence

The journal's own editors keep final authority over reviewer selection, editorial assessment and acceptance. NeucitePress runs the process and the infrastructure — never the decision.

Platform independence

Open-source software (OJS), your own domain, your own DOI prefix, and full data export on request. You can leave at any time with everything.

No indexing guarantees

Inclusion in DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, MEDLINE or any other database is decided solely by that database. We prepare, document and apply — we do not promise outcomes.

Questions

Before you choose a pillar

One item is fine. Every service under $2,000 has a fixed price and an Add-to-cart button on its pillar page — a single decision letter at $25, a DOAJ application at $999, a year of Basic hosting at $999. Packages exist for people who want one contract, not as a minimum.
You send the assessment form; we read your journal and reply within three business days with a written proposal priced per item. Launch tiers, migrations, annual editorial-office contracts and institutional offices are always quoted this way because scope varies too much to price blind.
Open Journal Systems (OJS), open source, on your own domain and DOI prefix. Janeway is available on request. Editorial, production, ethics and indexing services also work on Scholastica, Editorial Manager, ScholarOne and other platforms; only hosting and upgrades are OJS-specific.
No one can promise that, and we will not. We assess eligibility against the published criteria, fix what is fixable, and submit the application only when the journal meets the gate. The database decides. Rejection diagnostics are $699 per database if you have already been turned down.
