Data Deletion Request

1. What You Can Ask Us to Delete

On request, we can delete personal data such as:

• Your account profile, login credentials, and contact details
• Newsletter and marketing subscription records
• Support and enquiry correspondence
• Conference registration details not required for an event record
• Draft or unsubmitted manuscript material associated with your account
• Usage and analytics data linked to your identity

2. What We May Need to Keep

Some information cannot be deleted on request because we are legally or professionally required to retain it, or because it forms part of the permanent scholarly record. This may include:

• Published works: articles, chapters, and conference proceedings that have been published cannot be retracted simply through a data deletion request, as they form part of the permanent academic record. Corrections and retractions follow separate editorial and ethics procedures.
• Authorship and citation metadata: author names and affiliations attached to published works, which are part of the scholarly citation record.
• Financial and tax records: invoices and transaction records we must keep to meet legal obligations.
• Records needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Where we cannot delete data, we will tell you why and, where possible, restrict further processing of it.

3. How to Submit a Deletion Request

1. Email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”.
2. Tell us the name and email address associated with your account or submissions, so we can locate your data.
3. Describe what you would like deleted (all personal data, or specific items).
4. We may ask you to verify your identity before we proceed, to protect your data from unauthorised requests.

4. What Happens Next

• We will acknowledge your request promptly after we receive it.
• We will verify your identity where needed.
• We will complete the request within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 30 days under the GDPR and 45 days under the CCPA/CPRA, with an extension where permitted).
• We will confirm in writing once your data has been deleted, and explain anything we have had to retain and why.

5. Third-Party and Platform Data

If you reached us through a third-party platform or login (for example a social or institutional sign-in), deleting your data with us does not automatically delete data held by that platform. You should contact that provider separately. We will delete any data we received from such a connection in line with this page.
